BICYCLE! The reconquest of the city
Well-designed public spaces are an important task for urban planning and landscape architecture. The third actor on this limited area is traffic planning. Cycling plays a central, connecting role in all these areas and can be the key to success. In order to maintain and improve the quality of life, more space is needed on streets and squares, more green spaces and open spaces in an increasingly densely built-up and intensively used city.
BICYCLE! shows what a city development can look like that will attract even more people to the wheel in the future - and campaigns with projects from all over the world for this gentle reconquest of the city. The focus will be on cities such as Copenhagen, New York, Karlsruhe and Oslo. They show how the path to a sustainable and social city can also lead to the planning for a bicycle-friendly city.
